Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important centers of carpet weaving in Iran with a history that reaches back to 6-7 the century B.C. (The Medes people). The people of Tabriz have considered the art of carpet weaving as a profession, for which they have a special affinity and interest. They have continuously taken positive steps towards the development and improvement of this art, especially with the color combinations and original designs. Thus, with the creation of such magnificent pieces, the World Crafts Council has called Tabriz ‘Carpet Weaving Centre of the World.’
Tabriz carpets are known for their design, and three-dimensional patterns, which have/has helped secure an exceptional place in the art of carpet weaving in the world.
